  • Overview

    Our Mental Health Director is responsible for the provision of mental health services.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited college or university.

    Experience:

    • Experience in the coordination and administration of mental health service delivery systems
    • Significant coursework and professional experience in the mental health field that indicates knowledge of management and supervision techniques, peer review, quality assurance, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders, and psychological evaluation techniques.

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Designated Qualified Mental Health Professional in accordance with Massachusetts 104 CMR 33.

    Responsibilities

    1. Responsible to plan, manage, supervise, and coordinate the clinical services of mental health staff at the facility.

       

    2. Responsible for the clinical supervision and direction, professional education, and staff development of mental health professionals at the facility.
    3. Responsible to perform direct clinical services at the level expected for a licensed doctoral level psychologist.
    4. Responsible for oversight and direction of any training provided by mental health staff to other facility staff.
    5. Responsible to assign specific duties and clinical responsibilities to mental health staff in accordance with their position descriptions, education and professional experience.
    6. Responsible to represent interests of mental health services with the facility’s administrative staff and to facilitate cooperation in the delivery of mental health services.
    7. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
    8. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
    9. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
    10. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
    11. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
    12. Post orders, if applicable, per site contract.
    13. Perform other duties as assigned.
