  • Overview

    Our Dental Director will provide comprehensive dental services and supervision of all Dentists.

    Qualifications

    Education for Dentist:

    • Must be a graduate of an accredited Dental School with either a DMD or DDS degree.

    Experience for Dentist:

    • At least 5 years of experience in management and five years of experience practicing dentistry.
    • Experience in correctional dentistry is preferred.

    Licenses/Certifications for Dentist:

    • Must possess a current valid, unrestricted license to practice Dentistry in Massachusetts.

    Responsibilities

    1. Design, manage and coordinate a Clinical Performance Enhancement Program for all dentists;

       

    2. As required, serve as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee;
    3. Participate in system-wide Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives required by the Contract or otherwise requested by the ADC;
    4. Recruit, select, train and supervise the dentists, dental assistants and dental hygienists utilized throughout the Massachusetts prison system according to the requirements of the Contract;
    5. Resolve any dispute regarding Dental Services to the satisfaction of the ADC; and
    6. Ensure dentist availability and coverage both on-site and on-call for emergency situations; and
    7. Manage dentist scheduling.
    8. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
    9. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
    10. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
    11. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
    12. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
    13. Post orders, if applicable, per site contract.
    14. Perform other duties as assigned.
