Overview

The Regional Behavioral Health Manager (RBHM) functions in close collaboration with the operational leadership to provide clinical oversight, case consultation, training and onboarding, suicide prevention programmatic tools, and supervision to site behavioral health staff. The RBHM participates in patient safety and recruiting and retention initiatives.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Professional Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy

 

Experience:

  • Five (5) years professional experience in providing direct clinical evaluation, treatment and consultation services
  • Experience in administering a behavioral health program within a correctional setting required

 

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current license as appropriate for professional degree
  • Ability to obtain licensure in various states depending on regional territory assignment
  • Certification in CPR and basic First Aid

Responsibilities

  1. Provides support, supervision, clinical oversight and direction, and case consultation to site behavioral health staff to optimize compliance with contract requirements, accreditation standards, patient safety initiatives (with a focus on suicide prevention) and policies and procedures.
  2. Provides clinical coverage at sites (on average 35% of time is spent in direct patient contact). The goal will be to provide 50% of said coverage via telemedicine technology.
  3. Responsible for training and on-boarding of new behavioral health staff. 
  4. Participates in the ongoing development and implementation of the Correct Care Solutions Quality Improvement Program with a specific focus on critical clinical event reviews related to serious suicide attempt and completed suicides. 
  5. Participate in meetings with Operations and with clients, as required.
  6. Participates in recruitment and retention efforts for behavioral health staff.
  7. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  8. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
  9. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
  10. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
  11. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
